PlatePilot is made by a very small team, so support is email. Real replies, just not instant ones.

PlatePilot is in private TestFlight testing and isn’t on the App Store yet. Email support@platepilot.xyz with the subject “beta access” and the Apple ID email you’d use for TestFlight.

iPhone running iOS 26 or later, in portrait. There is no iPad, Apple Watch or Android version.
Not yet. It’s in private TestFlight testing while the photo pipeline and Today screen are finished. A public release is a later step, not a date we’ve promised.
Nothing during the beta. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase and no payment information collected today. If that changes, it will be stated plainly before it happens.
No. There is no sign-up, no password and no “sign in with Apple”. Your food log, goals and fasting history live in a database on your iPhone.
It’s sent over an encrypted connection to PlatePilot’s analysis service and used to generate the estimate. The service stores no food log. If you never use photo analysis, no photo ever leaves your phone.
Treat every number as an estimate. Identifying what’s on a plate is usually close; judging how much of it there is, is genuinely hard from a single photo. Catalogue and label values vary too. Edit anything that looks wrong before you save — and if you need precision, weigh it.
Everything except photo analysis. Search, logging, targets, fasting and insights all run on-device against the bundled catalogue.
Only what you allow. Health access is off by default. If you turn it on, PlatePilot can read sleep and weight for context and write your nutrition totals back. It is never used for advertising and never shared with data brokers. Revoke access any time in the Health app or Settings.
Delete items in the app, or delete the app — that removes its local database from your iPhone. Anything you wrote to Apple Health is managed in the Health app. If you emailed support, ask us and we’ll delete the correspondence.
An encrypted iPhone backup or a device-to-device transfer carries the app’s database across. There is no cloud sync, so a device restored from no backup starts empty.
No. PlatePilot is a wellness app. It doesn’t diagnose, treat or advise on any condition or medication, and it deliberately avoids claims about your physiological state.
Calorie tracking isn’t right for everyone, and it can make things worse for some people. If you have or have had an eating disorder, are pregnant, or are under medical supervision, please talk to a clinician before using an app like this.
